Who?

The Cultural Leadership Retreat is open to the First 40 UNLV students that sign up for the retreat. The retreat is designed to facilitate students’ understanding of multicultural expression within the context of leadership.

What?

The Cultural Leadership Retreat is a three-day, two-night weekend with interactive workshops designed to create an environment for individuals to explore cultural identity, share experiences, and discuss the meaning of leadership with the context of a diverse society. The workshops create a safe climate for sharing activities. The program content is based on the Principles of a Just Community.

What will be expected of me?

Participants need to come prepared to actively engage in dialogue by sharing views, attitudes, beliefs and experiences openly and honestly. Because of the possibility of being changed by the experience, genuine dialogue is inherently risky. Therefore, we need to create a safe environment in which each of us is free to express ourselves truthfully. This is only possible if all participants understand and agree to uphold their rights and responsibilities.

When and Where?

Early February 2010 at Warner Springs Ranch, Warner Springs, California. The retreat begins early Friday the weekend of the retreat. Transportation, food and lodging will be provided FREE.

Why?

The Cultural Leadership Retreat is an unique opportunity to learn more about yourself, connect with other students, and to make a positive impact at UNLV.

The Cultural Leadership Retreat is sponsored by The Office of Civic Engagement and Diversity.
